Membership Information

From our modest beginning in 1963 with a single chapter in New York, the 100 Black Men are now organized into over 100 chapters in the United States and abroad. The members of 100 Black Men include some of the most distinguished African American males in America, including:

  • Honorable P.J. Patterson, Prime Minister of Jamaica
  • Earl Graves, Publisher and CEO of Black Enterprise Magazine
  • Honorable Andrew Young, Former Ambassador
  • Gen. Colin Powell, Secretary of State
  • Bill Campbell, Mayor, City of Atlanta
  • Dennis Archer, Mayor, City of Detroit
  • Kenneth Chennault, President, American Express
  • Richard Parsons, President, Time Warner
  • Bill Cosby, Philanthropist and Entertainer

Membership in the Sacramento Chapter is generally open to all who share our commitment to advancing the interests of African American males. Prospective members must, however, be sponsored by a current member and approved by majority vote of the general membership. Persons interested in exploring membership will be invited to attend a meeting of the organization. Meetings are generally held on the first Thursday of each month at the Samuel Pannell Community Center, 2450 Meadowview Road.
